Description

Species in this group have been classified as epitoniums on the basis of their internal anatomy. This species has been found off Morocco and the Azores in the eastern Atlantic and Georgia in the western Atlantic at depths ranging from 785-1300m. It reaches a maximum size of about 5mm. The species has a cancellate sculpture consisting of numerous costae and about 5 raised spiral ridges per whorl. There are 3-4 teleoconch whorls. A basal ridge is present and there are about 7 raised spiral lines below it. It has 5 ribbed protoconch whorls. The aperture is oval and there is an angular projection at the base.
