Caecum cycloferum Folin, 1867 Fatlip Caecum
Distribution: Southeast United States, Texas; West Indies. Size: 4 to 6 mm
Description: Color whitish-yellow; shape tusklike; sculpture of strong longitudinal ridges; varix around aperture strong, abrupt with thick annulations crossed by the longitudinal ridges; mucro low, strong, somewhat triangulate. Habitat: Typically associated with seagrass and algal mats. In Texas found at FGB. Depth range 0 to 101 m (330 ft).
Remarks: Rare species not easily found on Texas coast. Common name suits this species well. See Ode (1988b).
