Description

Shell to 55.0 mm in length, fusiform-elongate, width 22-29% of length, solid, teleoconch of 6-8 whorls, only 2 whorls of protoconch observed but probably conical-multispiral. Sculptured with elevated, narrow spiral cords which number 3-5 on the penultimate and 10-15 on the body whorl, second cord anterior to the suture frequently more prominent, especially on spire whorls; interspaces concave, broad anterior to suture and slightly narrowing towards base,
usually sculptured with a central spiral thread and additional 1-5 spiral macrostriae, interspaces axially striate, striae generally more prominent on the spire whorls. Aperture about equal in height or slightly longer than the spire, 48-55% of total length, very narrow, smooth within, outer lip fluted, columella narrowly calloused and with 3-4 oblique folds, last anterior fold usually feeble, siphonal notch distinct. White in color, occasionally faintly streaked or banded with orange-brown, some specimens orange-brown and with paler sutures or streaks, aperture white. Periostracum thin, brown and moderately translucent.
