Description

Shell elongate fusiform, suture distinctly channelled, spire markedly longer than aperture. Sculpture consists of 10 - 12 wide-set axial ribs and spiral threads limited to base only. Columella with 4 pleats becoming weaker towards base. Small nodule present at the posterior angle of the aperture. Colour similar to A capensis with reddish-brown spiral bands and cream dashes. Maximum length 13mm. Shell similar in colour to A. capensis but more elongate with a distinctly channelled suture.
Jeffreys Bay to southern Wild Coast, Eastern Cape province. Specimens seldom wash up, mainly in poor condition.
