Description

Shell fusiform, whorls convex, suture deep. Sculpture of 14 strong rounded axial ribs on body whorl and crossed by weak spiral threads. Posterior angle with weak nodule, columella with 4 pleats becoming progressively weaker towards the base. Colour uniform white to pale pink. Maximum length 8mm. Narrower specimens with less rounded whorls were named becki Turton, 1933. A rare species, closely allied to A. rhodarion but always pure white or pale pink throughout.

Distribution

Restricted to the Port Alfred area. Rarely beaches.
