Description

This species outline and sculpture make it easily recognizable. 24-25 undulated axial ribs, as wide as the interspaces, adorn the last whorl which is about the half of the total height. Other important characteristics are the strong callosity of the external lip, the deep sinus in the upper zone of the external lip and the presence of the operculum. Usually uniform dark brown in colour but there were also found imaged shells with lighter transverse streaks. It is often covered by microscopical green algae. The periostracum is bright. The average measures reach 15 mm in height.
