Members of this Indo-Pacific genus have strombiform or globose shells, usually with one or (typically) two prominent columellar folds. The parietal wall is typically denticulate. Some have axial threads on the protoconch. The lateral radular teeth are large, with narrowly spaced flat-tipped secondary cusps. Type species: Euplica turturina (Lamarck, 1822) by original designation.

Type species Columbella turturina Lamarck, 1822 now Euplica turturina (Lamarck, 1822) Shells of this genus have rounded shoulders, one or two major columellar plaits and a series of columellar denticles. Protoconch has 3 convex whorls with axial striae (riblets), nuclear whorl is domed and smooth. Body whorl with large U-shaped sinus. Aperture to spire length ratio varies greatly. Lip with varix and 3 or 4 denticles, posterior canal rounded at exit. With or without axial ribs. Spire sides straight or slightly convex and may be concave near apex. The protoconch is sculptured as in E. varians or not sculptured in some species and the number of protoconch whorls varies from less than two to more than four. This ex¬tent of variation makes ID difficult at times. Euplica is not found in the Americas.
