Description

Shell oblong ovate, sub-fusiform; apex acute, base contracted and slightly twisted ; whorls eight, flatly convex, last one gibbose, longitudinally nodosely-ribbed ; ribs stout, rounded ten to eleven on the body-whorl; interstices decussated with raised stride ; aperture less than half the length of the shell; outer lip with five small teeth on the inner edge, and the columella slightly rugose; color ashy-white, with three transverse white bands, the upper one following the suture, and the nodules between the bands yellowish, with brown margins.
Length, six mill.
Habitat, Viti and Samoa Islands.
A very rare and handsome species found on the outer reefs.
