Shell thick, like the Arctic form figured by Dr. Kobelt from photo¬graphs of my type, but smaller and much darker in color. The operculum is disproportionately large for a Buccinum, nearly filling the aperture, and making a striking contrast with that of B. mbrchianum, which is always minute and much of the time absent entirely.
