Species in this genus can be distinguished by the combination of a solid shell with broad costae and the lack of a basal disk. This species has been found off northern Norway. It is a large species reaching a maximum size of about 54mm. It has about 9-10 teleoconch whorls which are strongly constricted at the suture. The costae are low, and numerous spiral grooves are present. The shell is strongly angled at the base. The aperture is oval.
