Description

Species in this group can be recognized by the presence of a basal disk over which the costae extend. This species, which occurs off west Africa, attains a size of 22mm. It is yellowish brown with reddish brown markings. It has at least 11 convex teleoconch whorls. The costae are low, irregularly spaced and angled at the shoulder. A basal ridge is present. The aperture is round and the outer lip is thin.

Shell elongate, fragile, with fine axial lamellae. Spiral sculpture between the costae, and one stronger spiral cord at the base. Usually yellowish brown, sometimes darker, with reddish brown markings. Dimensions: Up to 22 mm.
