Description

Berthais intertexta Melvill & Standen, 1903 (Fig. 189) The type species of the genus Berthals has been found in deep water in the Gulf of Oman. The maximum size is approximately 7mm. It has about 20 costae and about 10 spiral lines per whorl which give the surface of the shell a cancellate appearance. There are about 6 convex teleoconch whorls and the sutures are constricted. Spiral threads extend onto the base of the shell. The aperture and teleoconch whorls are strongly elongate.
