Description

We follow Waren in considering this species to be epitoniid. It occurs offshore at depths of 7 to 204 fathoms and ranges from Nova Scotia south to Massachusetts. The maximum size is 15mm. It is an elongate species, white in color, with 8 or more teleoconch whorls. The whorls are flat-sided with about 8 spiral cords per whorl. The sutures are deep. The aperture is tear-shaped and the outer lip is strong.
