Description

Description.- Shell, thin, fragile, smooth and polished, globose, ovate, about 10 mm in height, white in colour, with 2 blackish brown bands, one just below the suture and the other on the periphery; spire with more than 4 whorls, protoconch eroded, suture deep, simple; surface with axial fine growth lines and weak wavy spiral threads; aperture ovate, large, outer margin thin and arcuate, columellar margin slightly thickened and curved, umbilicus closed.
Discussion.-This species is somewhat ambiguous. Habe (1961) stated that the difference between A. callizona and A. inazawai is the thick shell and the coloured bands of the latter species. But the specimens collected at this moment are only collected as dead including a holotype, and distribution of this species is limited (the type locality of Kashiwajima, Kochi, and Amami Oshima, Japan). Furthermore, detailed information including ecology is unavailable, and therefore it is impossible to conclude whether this species is really an independent species or not. Type locality.- Kashiwajima, Tosa Bay, Japan
Dimensions.- height 10.0 mm; breadth 7.3 mm ; height 10.0 mm; breadth 7.2 mm
Distribution.- Tosa Bay and Amami Oshima Island, Japan.
