Description

While this species has been found in the eastern Atlantic, from the Bay of Biscay to the Azores, it does not occur in the Mediterranean Sea. It reaches a maximum size of only 3mm and has been found in deep water. The 3-5 teleoconch whorls are broad and the umbilicus is open. The 20-22 costae are not peaked and there is no spiral sculpture between the costae. There are 4 protoconch whorls. The aperture is oval and the outer lip is thin.
While de Boury designated this species as type species of Minutiscala, we consider it to be a Papyriscala.
