Description

Epitonium (Hirtoscala) fauroti (Jousseaume, 1912) (Fig. 200) Like a number of other species described by Jousseaus, this specica rangea from the Red Sea to Aden and Djibouti. It is tiny and only reaches a maximum size of about 3mm. There are approximately 4 teleoconch whorls with about 10- 12 reflected costae per whorl. It is a broad and relatively heavy given its size. The costae may be slightly angled below the suture. The outer lip is relatively broad and the aperture is almost round. The suture is narrowly open. The color is white. This apccica can be distinguished from adjunctum (Jonesesume, 1917) which has costar that are not reflected.
