Shell turbinate, rather large size, base flattened, periphery obtusely sub-angulate, spire elevated, whorls rounded except for a narrow flat step below the suture; surface glossy, closely scored by sharp spiral cuts; aperture oblique ovate, lip sharp, umbilicus a wide open funnel to the apex, margined by a beaded funicle.
