Description

Trigonal, very compressed, ribs about 26, narrow, set with large, oblong, compactly arranged, plate-like spines broader at their free, than at their attached end—constant features in this species; anterior and posterior dorsal margin slightly convex; anterior and posterior almost straight; ventral margin gently convex; shell colour varies, white, pale yellow, light orange, delicate mauve, pink, crushed strawberry, and purple. Holotype: length 27 mm, height 25 mm, section 14 mm.—Gulf St. Vincent, 15-20 fathoms. (Reg. No. D.13056, S.A. Mm)

As Neotrigonia horia:
Shell trigonal, compressed, posterior a little elongate, posterior margin truncate, straight, anterior margin rounded, ventral and posterior margin forming almost a right angle; radial ribs about 30 sharp and narrow; spiny scales weak almost obsolete in some specimens; colour pale yellow; interior pure white; hinge and teeth typical of the genus. Holotype: length 35 mm, height 30 mm., S.A., Beachport, 110 fathoms. (Reg. No. D.14449, S.A. Mus.)
Loc.: The species ranges from 12 to 200 fathoms. S.W.A., King George Sound 12-14 fathoms, S.A.
