Description

Malletia bermudensis Haas, 1949 Distribution: Texas; Bermuda. Size: 7 mm (½ in). DEEP WATER Description: Color yellowish-white; shape elongate-ovate; sculpture smoothish except for fine commarginal threads; dentition taxodont on both sides of umbo; resilifer absent; sulcus from beak to anterior margin. Habitat: Muddy bottoms. Depth range 2321 to 2867 m (7659 to 9404 ft). Remarks: Collected by Pequegnat in 1965 at 26°15′N, 95°00' W by dredging at a depth of approximately 2321 m (7659 ft); identified by James in 1965. See Odé (1980c); Coan et al. (2000).
