Description

Ovate, very inflated, broadly rounded anteriorly; longer, broadly rounded posteri¬orly, with dorsal undulation. Ventral margin rounded. Three times as many teeth in posterior as in anterior series. Length to 23 mm.
From the Bering Sea south of the Pribilof Islands (55.4°N) [USNM], Alaska, to off the Farallon Islands, California (37.7°N) [SBMNH], in 2,900 - 3,240 m. The specimens from California are longer posteriorly and subquadrate, and may prove to be a new species.
