Shell rather small, pale yellow to light brown in colour, solid, equilateral and orbicular; umbo orthogyrate, projecting beyond the dorsal margin; surface radially ribbed with about thirty narrowly rounded ribs, with one or two small riblets interposed between two ribs; they are intersected by numerous concentric riblets, producing granules at the point of intersection, surrounding nearly square pits ; ventral margin denticulate by the projecting terminals of radial ribs; hinge plate thick, short and slightly curved; teeth are disposed in
two series, seven in the anterior row and eight in the posterior; area very narrow with a small triangular resilifer pit at the middle; interlocking tubercles are set around the inner flattened margin. Length 7.7 mm., height 8.3 mm., breadth 4.5 mm.
Type locality: Off Mishima, Yamaguchi Pref., Honshu Distribution: Type locality and off Shimane Pref., Honshu
Remarks: This new species differs from Oblimopa forskalii (A. Adams) in the equilaterally orbicular shape. Oblimopa japonica (A. Adams) seems to be the nearest allly, but is larger in size and has more numerous hinge teeth.
