Description

Sarepta speciosa A. Adams, 1860 Shell small, 10.0 mm in length, 9.2 mm in height, roundly ovate, nearly equilateral, rather flat; umbo low, located at middle of dorsal margin; without lunule and escutcheon; anterior end rounded and posterior end slightly bluntly pointed; interior white, pallial line entire; hinge plate short; teeth feeble, 14-16 in front of and 18-22 behind the chondrophore. Distribution: East and South China Seas; Japan Sea. Ecology: Found on muddy and fine sandy bottoms at 50 -350 m depth.
