Description

Shell subquadrate, medium in size; posterior end longer, truncate to broadly rounded, inflated. Posterodorsal margin straight, not recurved. Growth lines irregular. Periostracum dull to shiny. Resilifer small. Length to 40 mm.
Pribilof Islands, Bering Sea (56.5°N) [USNM], to Monterey, California (36.7°N) [LACM], and west to Kamchatka, in 200 - 400 m. Also recorded as early as the Pliocene in western North America.
