Description

Shell compressed, strongly rostrate; rostrum long, sharply pointed. Periostracum brightly varnished. Sculpture absent, or feeble radial lirae and commarginal growth lines. Lunule lanceolate; escutcheon strong. Anterior and posterior series of teeth nearly equal. Length to 16 mm.
Widely distributed in the Pacific Ocean; in the northeast Pacific (44.9°N, 147.6°W) [LACM], to Peru (9°S) [USNM], in 4,000 - 5,000 m.
