Description

Yoldia similis Kuroda et Habe, 1952 Shell medium, 15.5 mm in length, 7.5 mm in height. compressed, inequilateral; umbo placed about one third of the way from the anterior; rounded at anterior end and attenuated to the posterior; a ridge running from the umbo towards the upturned posterior and forming a lanceolate escutcheon; surface with slightly oblique threads; anterior row of teeth numbered about 23 and the posterior row about 18. Distribution: Bohai Sea of China, Huanghai Sea (Yellow Sea) and East China Sea; from Honshu to Kyushu in Japan. Ecology: Muddy bottom of 7-23 m depth.
