Description

Semipallium crouchi (E.A. Smith, 1892)
11-43 mm. —» Anterior lateral margin only half the length of the posterior one. Rather flat, eight to eleven low, rolling ribs. Interspaces similar. —> Radial threads, usually stronger near the ventral margin. Reticulate microsculpture, no scales. Lighter and darker loosely concentric bands of yellow-orange with a few slightly darker ones, either plain or mottled. (42 mm)
Distribution: Rare, associated with coral reefs from the Gubal Straits to Marsa Alam. Notes: Unfortunately the auricles are missing from the right valve specimen.
