Alectryonella crenulifera (Sowerby, 1871)
10-34 mm. —»Green or white inside. Usually found attached to other shells. —> A few weak nodular chomata, only near the ligament. UV flat or plicate, exterior often red. (31 mm) Distribution: Common in the northern Gulf of Suez, occasional near the reefs off Hurghada.
Notes: A much less common species, Nanostrea exigua, has stronger chomata all the way around the margin
