Habitat. - Inter- and subtidal. living on sea-grass from which they graze algae.

Distribution. - Very widely distributed in the Indo-West-Paciftc. Not uncommon in beach drift in sandy areas in the Red Sea. Not found in Oman or the Arabian Gulf until now.
