Shell of big sizes, characterized by convex whorls with deep sutur. The last whorl is high about the half of the total height. The sculpture is made by solid axial ribs (17-18 on the last whorl) and by spiral belts less broad, that where they cross make non well defined nodules. Aperture oval in form, stretched, with 6-7 small teeth in the internal zone, siphonal canal short. Typical colour pattern: dirty white ground, with the spiral belts reddish in colour in the interspaces, white in colour on the ribs. Protoconch globose with fine spiral striae and with some axial ribs in the final part. The average measures overcome one centimetre plentifully.

It was recorded in the Ionian Sea too, but more frequently in the Tyrrhenian Sea, above all in the Tuscan Archipelago (Italy), where it is found in depth, on Terebratula vitrea. It prefers detrital-rocky bottoms of the circalittoral plain.
