Axial ribs close and regularly spaced (13-14 on last whorl), milk white in colour in median part of whorls where it is present a carina making a shoulder up to suture where ribs are not much evident. On the contrary in the lower part of whorl axial ribs are prominent. Whorls are covered by 7-8 primary spiral little cords intervalled by other intermediate ones less prominent. Lip simple, streaked internally. Siphonal canal straight, strong, quite open, dark brown in colour. Columella with no plicae. Periostracum persistent, light brown in colour. Chromatic ornamentation on last whorl is very peculiar: one wide band white in colour in the median part, quite visible on axial ribs, on a ground dark brown in colour.
Operculum corneous, oval, lateral nucleus. Animal is reddish in colour with small irregular maculae dirty white. Along Tunisian and Turkish coasts there is a form presenting whorls more convex (without carina) and stretched. Average measures of adult specimens reach 50 mm in height.
