Description

This offshore species ranges from the Bay of Biscay through the western Mediterranean Sea to the Canary Islands. It attains a maximum size of about 23mm. The shell is brown with up to 10 flat-sided whorls and deep sutures. There are numerous spiral grooves on each whorl with occasional low varices. The aperture is tear-shaped and the shell is strongly angled on the base.
