Description

E. candidissium is a very rare species which has been found in the western Mediterranean Sea and off the coast of Morocco. It attains a maximum size of approximately 15mm. It has 12-14 thin erect costae per whorl which are not peaked. The spaces between the costae are smooth. The shell is white with up to 9 fragile, light teleoconch and 4.5 protoconch whorls. The aperture is oval and the outer lip is thin.
It can be distinguished from E. clathratulum (Kanmacher, 1798) by the less convex teleoconch whorls, the smaller number of costae per whorl and the shallower sutures.
