Among its similar ones of the Mediterranean, this species is unmistakable due to its apex characteristics. Shell solid, conic stretched in outline, teleconch with whorls not much convex and sculpture made, on the last whorl, by 15-18 thin ribs prosocline intersected by three spiral little cords, the upper one of which is less developed. At crossing of this sculpture there are some small nodules and some interspaces quadrangular in form. Base smooth and limited, in the upper part, by one well defined spiral little cord. Aperture subquadrangular, columella arched, siphonal canal short. Protoconch made by 2.2 whorls sharp-cornered due to the presence of one carina in the central part of the whorl. Under strong amplification it can be seen a punctured microsculpture. Uniform light brownish in colour. During its several growth stages this species is always recognizable due to its protoconch peculiar sculpture. We agree with the author: considering the sculpture characters of teleconch and protoconch. this species needs to be studied more deeply before being assigned to a new generic taxon. The average measures are around 2.5-3 mm in height.

It can be found in the Alboran Sea and in the Upper and Medium Tyrrhenian, but probably it has a larger diffusion.
