Tritia obsoleta: Shell ovate-conic, subacute, cancellated exhibiting a granulated appearance, dark reddish-brown, or blackish, sometimes tinged with olivaceous ; spire shorter than the body; suture not deeply impressed; beak not distinguished from the body whorl by any profound depression, and not prominent; labium within lineated with elevated, abbreviated or interrupted lines, not incrassated, purple-black; columella at base with a prominence or fold. Length, 3/5 in. (Say.)
