Small shell, even for this genus of rather small ACTEONIDAE. Cylindrical in shape, much higher than wide. The protoconch is rare, followed by a single spiral whorl. Both protoconch and spiral whorl are about 1/6 of the total shell height, the rest is made up by the body whorl. This body whorl is very cylindrical in shape and is covered on the dorsum by 17 spiral grooves that are very shallow. The aperture is big, covering about ¾ of the total shell height. The outer lip is thin. On the columellar side, halfway the aperture, a small columellar tooth is observed. Followed, as one goes down, by a huge columellar tooth, which is turning inside the aperture and between that tooth and the lower wall of the body whorl, a kind of channel is formed. Where in most Acteonids, the lower lip is crenulated, this is not the case in this species. The overall coloration is white, and the pattern is ab¬sent.

Small size, combined with the particular construction of the columellar features, sculpture and color, will distinguish this species at once from all other Pupa. The much larger - around 13 mm -Pupa alveola can vaguely resemble this species, but that species does not have an extra tooth above the columellar fold at the base of the aperture.
