Shell small for the genus, only 6.5 mm in length, with a small protoconch, followed by three spiral whorls that are very slightly convex. The last spiral whorl being large, even larger than the protoconch and the earlier spiral whorls combined. The spire is small, covering less than Vs of the total shell height. The body whorl is elongate, cylindrical in shape and smooth. The aperture is large but narrow, covering more than half of the total shell length. On the columellar side one sees three well developed columellar teeth, the central one being the largest, set on an area which is slightly lighter colored than the rest of the shell. The outer surface is smooth and glossy. The color of the shell is an overall yellow, with a lighter zone around the columellar teeth, but this color may be due to the bottom where the dead shell remained before being fished. It is possible the color was either light cream or even white, when the animal was alive. The outer lip is slightly damaged, but visibly it was thin. We refer to the photographs for a general understanding as how the shell looks.

We here compare the species with other Pupa that have a similar outline in shape - with the lower part like cut by an oblique line. These are Pupa affinis, P. sekii and P. strigosa. All three of them have deep spiral grooves all over the shell, while the new species is smooth. P. affinis and P. sekii are also much bigger: with 10 and 11 mm in average these species are almost twice the size of P. baringensis n. sp.
