12mm. Solid, semitransparent, glossy, needle like, spire straight sided, with finely incised sutures, whorls showing faint, short plications subsuturally; occasional indistinct varices: distinct protoconch of about 1.5 convex whorls. Narrow parietal callus. Outer lip straight, narrowing at base; slightly curved in profile. White. Syn: H. auritae Waren, 1991. Habitat: intertidal on sand dollars. Distribution: NG, NWG, Mas.
