Description

Distribution: New Jersey to Brazil; Texas; Bermuda. Size: 6 to 12 mm .
Description: Color white; shape conic, tapered; body whorl bulbous, rest of whorls at¬tenuate with sharp apex; suture not well defined; aperture ovate, narrow; outer lip thin and sharp; columella thickened; umbilicus a narrow channel behind the columella. Habitat: Ectoparasite on the sea cucumber Holothuria impatiens. Typically found at depths from 155 to 283 m (508 to 928 m).
Remarks: The name Eulima sarsi was made available by Bush (1909) after it was noted that E. intermediates found to be a misidentification by Verrill (1882). Specimen in photograph from Seven and One-half Fathom Reef. First record from a depth this shallow (14 m, or 45 ft)
