As Pholas dilecta Pilsbry & Lowe, 1932
Shell thin, elongate, the height contained about 3,5 times in the length, subcylindric, gaping anteriorly. . Sculpture of strong concentric wrinkles bearing vaulted or imbricating scales in radial lines from the beaks, both wrinkles and radii .obsolete at the posterior end. where there are irregular growth lines only. Anterior end short, acuminate; posteriorly tapering to a narrowly rounded end. Length 74.5 mm., height 22 mm., diam. about 24 mm. The shell somewhat resembles Pholas chilensis King, but is more attenuated at the anterior end and the sculpture in that species consists of obtusely wrinkled ribs. Corinto, Nicaragua (Lowe, 1931), Gulf of Fonseca, Salvador, and Guaymas, Mexico (Lowe).
