Description

This distinctive species is characterized by 1) ovate-conic, moderately tall-spired, dorso-ventrally compressed shell up to 5.5 mm in height, 2) earlier spire whorls more convex than subsequent ones, 3) sutures increasingly shallow during growth, 4) body whorl broadly oval, asymmetric, gradually tapering at the base, devoid of any umbilical chink, 5) aperture oval, small and oblique, 6) outer surface shining, with fine growth lines; faint pitted spiral lines occur on earliest whorls. As already pointed out by BRANDT (1974), the definitely shallow suture between the last two whorls is the distinctive character.
