Frigidoalvania cruenta resembles F. janmayeni in the coarse sculpture and dark reddish brown periostracum, but is smaller, maximum height 3 mm, has almost no axial ribs, and its protoconch is finely striated under the thick periostracum and ferrugineous deposits.
