Description

Shell size typical for genus, adult size up to 4.5 mm; fusiform, elongate. Suture slightly impressed. Protoconch paucispiral, -1.5 smooth whorls. Teleoconch consisting of ca. 3.25 whorls. Axial sculpture of weak axial riblets on first whorl and first half of second whorl. Spiral sculpture of broad, flattened spiral cords with narrow interspaces, lacking on first whorl, with eight cords on second and penultimate whorls and 16 cords on final whorl; continuing as basal cords. Outer lip thickened with small rim, bearing continuation of spiral sculpture. Inner lip smooth. Columellar callus thin. Parietal callus thin. Columella smooth. Siphonal canal short, open, slightly recurved. Teleoconch whorls semi-translucent, off-white in colour. Protoconch semi-translucent, off-white. Aperture and columella off-white. Holotype height 4.5 mm.

Interchangeable taxa

This species stands apart from all congeners in possessing fewer spiral cords and axial sculpture on the early teleoconch whorls.
