Description

Shell size typical for genus, adult size of holotype 3.1 mm; fusiform, elongate. Suture slightly incised. Protoconch paucispiral, slightly less than two smooth whorls. Teleoconch of 3.3 whorls. Axial sculpture of thin, close-set, opisthocline ribs on all teleoconch whorls; 11 ribs on first teleoconch whorl, increasing to 14 ribs on final whorl. Spiral sculpture of basal cords, ventrally ranging to three-fourths of columella height. Outer lip slightly thickened, bearing continuation of basal cords. Inner lip with rim and subterminal sinus. Columellar callus thickened, slightly raised. Parie¬tal callus slightly thickened. Columella nearly smooth. Siphonal canal short, open, slightly recurved. Teleoconch whorls off-white in colour. Protoconch off-white. Aperture and columella off-white.

Interchangeable taxa

This species is similar to Seminella comistea, but differs in its multispiral protoconch, larger size, and opisthocline axial ribs.
