Shell size small for genus, adult size up to ca. 4.2 mm; fusiform. Suture slightly impressed, whorls slightly shouldered. Protoconch paucispiral, -1.5 smooth whorls. Teleoconch of ca. 3.5 whorls. Axial sculpture of close-set ribs; strongest on first whorl, diminishing in strength on subsequent whorls until obsolete, final whorl smooth. Spiral sculpture of basal cords, ventrally ranging to just below adapical edge of columella. Outer lip thickened, with distinct rim, smooth, bearing only continuation of basal cords. Inner lip denticulate, with four to five denticles; middle denticle markedly smaller. Columellar callus raised, clearly demarcated. Parietal callus weak. Columella nearly smooth, but with one to two abapical denticles. Siphonal canal short, open, straight. Teleoconch whorls off-white to beige in colour, semi-translucent. Protoconch off white to beige, occasionally with somewhat darker nucleus. Aperture and columella off-white. Operculum light brown, semi-translucent, with terminal nucleus. Holotype height 3.9 mm.

The only congener of the same size at similar depths known thus far is Mitrella fineti Poppe & Tagaro, 2010 from the Philippines. The latter differs from the new species in the multispiral protoconch, the absence of axial sculpture and the shape of the columella.
