Description

Shell size slightly smaller than typical for genus, adult size up to 8.5 mm; fusiform, slightly bulbously elongate. Suture weakly incised. Protoconch paucispiral, 1.5 smooth whorls. Teleoconch of ca. 4.5 whorls. Axial sculpture absent. Spiral sculpture of basal cords, ventrally ranging to just below adapical end of columella. Outer lip slightly thickened, smooth, bearing only continuation of basal cords. Inner lip with weak rim, denticulate, with seven weak denticles. Columellar callus weak. Parietal callus very weak, almost obsolete. Columella smooth. Siphonal canal short, open, straight. Teleoconch whorls off-white in colour, semi-translucent. Protoconch off-white, semi-translucent. Aperture and columella off-white. Holotype height 8.3 mm.

Interchangeable taxa

This species stands apart from all congeners in the very light, semi-translucent construction of the shell for its size.
