Description

Shell size small for genus, size of adult holotype 5.5 mm; fusiform, elongate. Suture slightly impressed. Protoconch paucispiral, 1.5 smooth whorls. Teleoconch slightly less than five whorls. Axial and spiral sculpture absent. Outer lip slightly thickened, with small rim, smooth. Lower half of inner lip with four denticles, diminishing in strength abapically. Columellar callus thickened, semi-demarcated. Parietal callus thin. Columella smooth. Siphonal canal short, open, slightly recurved. Teleoconch whorls off-white in colour. Protoconch off-white, semi-translucent. Aperture and columella off-white.

Interchangeable taxa

This species is most similar to Mitrella expolita, but differs in its slightly larger adult size, greater number of teleoconch whorls, thicker callus and apertural denticles.
