Description

Shell size typical for genus, adult size 8.9 mm; fusiform, elongate. Suture slightly incised, whorls shouldered. Protoconch paucispiral, slightly more than two smooth whorls. Teleoconch of slightly more than five whorls. Axial sculpture absent. Spiral sculpture of basal cords, ventrally ranging to adapical end of columella. Outer lip thickened, with clear rim, smooth, bearing only continuation of basal cords. Inner lip denticulate, with six strong, equally spaced denticles. Columellar callus thickened. Parietal callus obsolete. Columella with rim of four to five merged denticles. Siphonal canal short, open, straight. Teleoconch whorls off-white in colour, subsutural band of alernating white and beige blotches appearing on third whorl. Body whorl with second similar band at mid-whorl and with beige area just above basal cords. Protoconch off-white. Aperture and columella off-white. Holotype height 8.9 mm.

Interchangeable taxa

This species stands apart from the preceding three species in the more shouldered whorls, very short siphonal canal, the sloping body whorl on the columellar side when viewed ventrally and the slightly different colour pattern.
