The species is similar to Mitrella scapula and M. debitusae, but differs from M. scapula in its fewer teleoconch whorls, broader overall appearance, less shouldered whorls, higher extension of the basal cords, shorter siphonal canal, and colour pattern. It differs from M. debitusae in the higher extension of the basal cords, the less shouldered whorls, the broader protoconch, the absence of teeth on the columella, the thinner columellar callus and the colour pattern.
