Description

Shell size typical for genus, adult size up to ca. 7.6 mm; fusiform, elongate. Suture slightly impressed, whorls shouldered. Protoconch paucispiral, ca. two smooth whorls. Teleoconch of ca. five whorls. Axial sculpture absent. Spiral sculpture of basal cords, ventrally ranging to adapical end of columella; two adapicalmost cords markedly weaker. Outer lip thickened, with distinct rim, smooth, bearing only continuation of basal cords. Inner lip denticulate, with six equally spaced denticles, diminishing in strength abapically. Columellar callus present, thickened. Parietal callus thin. Columella with five to six denticles. Siphonal canal short, open, slightly recurved. Teleoconch whorls off-white. Protoconch off-white. Aperture and columella off-white. Holotype height 6.9 mm.

Interchangeable taxa

The species is most similar to Mitrella scapula, but differs in the denticulate columella, the smaller teleoconch and less bulbous protoconch.
