Shell size typical for genus, adult size up to ca. 9.6 mm; fusiform, elongate. Suture straight. Protoconch paucispiral, -1.5 smooth whorls. Teleoconch of five whorls. Axial sculpture absent. Spiral sculpture of basal cords, ventrally ranging to adapical edge of columella. Outer lip slightly thickened, smooth, bearing only continuation of basal cords. Inner lip denticulate, with five to six more or less equally spaced denticles of equal size; abapicalmost denticle smaller. Columellar callus thickened. Parietal callus weak. Columella nearly smooth, with row of eight very small, partially merged denticles. Siphonal canal short, open, straight. Teleoconch whorls off-white in colour, semi-translucent, pale yellowish-brown near outer lip. All teleoconch whorls with bright white subsutural band. Protoconch off-white. Aperture and columella off-white. Holotype height 9.2 mm.

This species is similar to M. angustalineata and M. arcta , but differs in the position and number of columellar denticles, fewer teleoconch whorls, broader shell, and subsutural white band. Additional differentiating characteristics in comparison to M. arcta include the less elongate aperture and shorter siphonal canal.
